Pamiętaj o mnie/Remember me

Tym razem będzie nieco z innej beczki, mianowicie filmowo. Już drugi raz oglądałam film zatytułowany "Remember me", pierwszy raz jakiś czas temu w Polsce, drugi raz wczoraj z mężem. Film wywarł na mnie duże wrażenie, dlatego postanowiłam go zachować i uznałam, że Naveen również powinien go zobaczyć. Polacy jak zwykle mają problem z tłumaczeniem oryginalnych tytułów, więc zamiast "Pamiętaj o mnie" pojawiło się "Twój na zawsze"... nie wiem za sprawą czego tak się stało, może "Twój" na zawsze" brzmi bardziej komercyjnie...

Nie chcę za dużo rozpisywać się na temat fabuły filmu, zobaczcie sami. Nie ma wartkiej akcji...lecz treść, którą warto zapamiętać.

"Remember me" (reżyseria Allen Coulter) to historia młodego zbuntowanego chłopaka Tylera (Robert Pattinson), który nie potrafi odnaleźć swojego miejsca w życiu. Chłopak jest dobrze sytuowany, skąd więc to życiowe niedopasowanie? Zblazowanie, to nie efekt nudy, czy nadmiaru pieniędzy. Wpisana w jego życie osobista tragedia  (samobójstwo brata) powoduje, że płynie pod prąd na przekór wszystkim. Od tragicznego wydarzenia minęło kilka lat, jednak wszystko w życiu Tylera zostało naznaczone tym dramatem. Film ukazuje skomplikowane relacje rodzinne i osobiste dramaty każdego z bohaterów.

Pewnej nocy, Tyler wraz z kolegą wybiera się do klubu, wracając wplątuje się w bijatykę. Rozgoryczony obojętnością policjanta (Chris Cooper) wobec sprawców zajścia, zaczyna się stawiać, przez co trafia do aresztu, mimo iż nie był prowodyrem tej bójki. Wychodzi z więzienia dzięki wpływom i pieniądzom ojca (Pierce Brosnan). Po pewnym czasie dowiaduje się, że policjant ma córkę, która chodzi do tej samej szkoły. W ramach zemsty postanawia ją uwieść, a następnie porzucić. Nie spodziewa się jednak, że wkrótce Ally  (Emilie DeRavin), która również skrywa życiową tragedię, stanie się najważniejszą osobą w jego życiu.

Scenarzyści filmu, Jenny Lumet i Will Fetters, "grają" na  niezwykle wysokich emocjach. To opowieść wielowątkowa, jednak tak jak napisałam wcześniej, akcja nie "spieszy się",  zatem każda z historii może zostać opowiedziana we właściwym dla siebie czasie i tempie. O wiarygodności postaw i zachowań filmowych bohaterów decyduje przede wszystkim bardzo dobra obsada. Rzetelne aktorstwo i solidna reżyseria to atuty filmu. Robert Pattinson w roli Tylera udowadnia, że jest świetnym aktorem ,a nie tylko bożyszczem nastolatek.

Nie napiszę nic więcej odnośnie fabuły...z opisu, który przedstawiłam, nic nie przemawia za wyjątkowością tego filmu..jednak tak nie jest...specjalnie nie opisuję więcej szczegółów, żeby każdy widz dał się zaskoczyć, tak jak to było ze mną i z Naveenem.

Dodam tylko, że obraz Allena Coultera to kino kontra życie. W filmie główny bohater cytuje Mahatmę Gandhiego „Cokolwiek w życiu robisz, nie ma większego znaczenia. Ale ważne jest, żeby to robić”.

Zaskakujące zakończenie, przypomina, że w życiu trzeba kochać żarliwie i chwytać każdą chwilę, bo "jutro" wcale nie musi nadejść. Warto się starać, bo nasze życie pozostawia ślad...Zawsze ! Nawet wtedy, gdy nam się wydaje, że niczego nie dokonaliśmy...

This time I would like to share a non culinary topic. I want to write about movie "Remember me", which I have seen second time yesterday. First time I have watched it in Poland, I found it quite impressing, so I've saved it for Naveen and yesterday we watched it together.

Polish movie industry always screws up while translating original movie titles... and so happened also this time.

Instead "Remember me" Polish translation is "Yours forever", I don't know why...maybe "Yours forever" is more commercial... anyways this kind of title doesn't correspond at all with what this movie is about and does not enhance to watch it, so I am happy I have not gave it up, as it's definitely a  valuable one. 

If you have seen the previews then you have probably made the same assumptions about the movie Remember Me as me,  certainly there is a boy-girl kind of story line, but there is so much more to it.

I don't want to write too much about the plot itself, as you should see it yourself. There is no  fast action, there are no typical American scenes... there is a content with matters and which is worth remembering.

"Remember me" (directed by  Allen Coulter) is a history of young rebellious boy Tyler (Robert Pattinson), who is unable to find his own place in life.  Although he is rich, he seams not to be very moody, but such behavior is not just a result of being bored, or too much of money. There is a secret (his brothers suicide) being encrypted to his life. It has been several years since that tragedy, however everything in Tyler's life seems to have fingerprints of this drama. The movie is showing complicated family matters and personal drama of  each of the characters. 

One night, Tyler together with his best friend, go to a club in New York. On their way back they participate in a fight. Tyler being pissed with indifference of the cop (Chris Cooper), starts a discussion with an officer, and because of that gets himself arrested, even though he was the one, who wanted other guys to stop fighting. Thanks to his father's money and influences, he is being released, but promises to pay the money back to his dad (Pierce Brosnan).  After a while he gets to know that the cop has a daughter  who goes to the same school as he. Being encouraged by his friend, he starts to flirt with her and then dump her. However he doesn't even suspect that very soon, object of his affection, Ally (Emilie DeRavin) who also has experienced loss in her past as well, will become the most important person in his life.

Screenplay written by Jenny Lumet and Will Fetters "touches" highest level of human emotions This multi -motive story is not in a hurry, each part of it has a chance to be spoken in proper time and space. The credibility of behavior of the characters is guaranteed thanks to an excellent cast.  Good acting and direction  are the main assets of this movie. Robert Pattinson proves that he does not only look good, but is a very good actor indeed.

I will not write anything more about the plot. I purposely don't want to go into details, so that you are able to get surprised  same as us.

Main character quotes Mahatma Gandhi "Whatever you do in your life will be insignificant, but it's very important that you do it". Surprising ending, reminds us that we should love passionately and live our lives to the fullest. Seize the day as tomorrow is not guaranteed. Doesn't matter how insignificant our lives may  seem, it is worth to make an effort. As every life leaves the vestige. Always! Even when we believe we had done nothing...
